SYBYL System Requirements

SYBYL®-X requires the following:

1). Intel x86-compatible processors running at 1.0 GHz or better. 
          Note:  The 32-bit compatibility layer provided as an optional part of the RedHat installation process must be installed to run SYBYL on 64-bit Linux machines. This compatibility layer is comprised of the following packages: libXmu, libXpm, and libXp.

2). This is a recommended minimum. Greater processing power, higher speed processor, and more memory are all recommended for any heavy duty use.

SYBYL® 8.1 remains available for Mac OS® X users and requires the following: 
  • OS: OS X 10.5.4
  • CPU: 2.4 GHz
  • Memory: 2 GB
  • Swap Space (MB): 500 +
  • Screen Resolution: 1280x1024

1. Updates to SYBYL 8.0 were not supported on RHEL 3.x. Users must upgrade their OS prior to upgrading their SYBYL installation to v8.0.1 or higher.

2. Intel x86-compatible processors running at 1.0 GHz or better.  Tripos does not support running SYBYL on Intel Itanium processors. 

3. This is a recommended minimum. Greater processing power, higher speed processor, and more memory are all recommended for any heavy duty use.
